ABOUT

Why FCC EXISTS

FCC (Full Court Coed) sports was born out of a simple truth: after college or high school, full-court basketball all but disappears. Between work, parenting, and busy lives, most adults are left without consistent, competitive runs — especially in McHenry County.

After moving to a new area, I realized how much I missed the game — not just the sport, but the energy, competition, and community it brought. So I decided to start something from scratch. One gym. A few players. And a facebook group.

It took off fast.

What began as FCC Hoops has grown into FCC Sports Club, a community of adults who show up, play hard, and keep it fun — whether they’re lacing up for full-court hoops or jumping into a fast, competitive volleyball rotation. We’re here for the solid runs, clean play, and good people. No drama. No long-term commitments. Just great games and a community that keeps growing.

Founder of FCC Hoops holding her daughter on the basketball court, building an adult pickup basketball community in McHenry County.

Hi, I’m brittney— player, mom, and founder

I’m a former college basketball player and a full-time working mom of two. I started FCC Hoops while juggling daycare drop-offs, Zoom calls, and late night laundry — because I knew I couldn’t be the only one who missed lacing up.

Basketball has been part of my life since I was in 2nd grade. My dad — and my coach — always signed me up for coed leagues to challenge me and level up my game. I didn’t realize it at the time, but that early exposure to fast, physical, coed competition shaped how I approach the sport today. I’ve always loved the intensity, the mix of styles, and the edge that comes with coed hoops — and I’ve carried that with me ever since.

And as FCC grew, I saw the same need in our community for volleyball — a place for adults to find competitive, high-energy play without needing to commit to a full league season. So we expanded. Now FCC Sports Club brings both basketball and volleyball to gyms across McHenry, Lake & Cook Counties.

THE VIBE I WANTED TO CREATE

After college, pickup was my jam. I love the fluidity — different teammates, different styles, different challenges every week. There’s something beautiful about showing up, running hard with whoever’s there, and walking away better. It’s dynamic, it’s fun, and it fits into your life without demanding an 8-week commitment.

FCC Sports Club is coed, adult-only (18+), and geared toward intermediate to advanced players. We play fast, we rotate cleanly, and we respect each other on and off the court. Whether it’s basketball or volleyball, we keep the energy competitive but welcoming.

This group isn’t just about sports — it’s about creating consistent space to connect, move, compete, and recharge.

With gratitude

I didn’t build this alone.

FCC wouldn’t exist without the support and encouragement of my husband. From helping with the kids to fixing up the website, to being my biggest hype man behind the scenes — he’s been there every step of the way. His belief in this group (and in me) is a huge reason it’s grown into what it is today.
